Since I know there’s a vast community of Theatre Technicians on Tumblr I thought I’d put this out there so we could get to know each other.
So here goes:

• Name (or username): Liz (backstageleft)
• Areas of tech you’re interested in: Properties & Set (Construction & Design)
• Area of tech you would like to know more about: Lighting & Sound. 
• How long you’ve been in tech theatre: I’ve been doing tech since I was in middle school, started off doing set painting. In highschool I upgraded to the backstage stuff (became a prop wrangler) and started building sets, and in college I started designing and doing prop master/artisan work. Sooo that’s nine years since I started in middle school. 
• Favorite show that you’ve worked on: Steampunk Pirates of Penzance
• Favorite thing that you’ve created for theatre: Light-up steampunk pirate swords
• Show you’d love to work on: Wicked
• Ideal career goal: Broadway or the Film/Television Industry (Working in a prop shop or working as a prop master)
• How you deal with tech week/hell week stress: If I have spare time: Sit down and watch some adorable disney movie. If I don’t have spare time: Caffeine… and lots of chocolate.

Dillonworks is a place that creates set, exhibits, home cinemas, you name it, they create it. It’s an amazing place. I’ve been inside once. They have a giant pterodactyl with a huge pencil in it’s grasp over the receptionist’s desk.
