I did this two years ago when I was designing Cyrano de Bergerac and Rhinoceros at the same time. I call him “Rhyano de Bergerous” OR “Cyranocerac”.
I’m posting this because of reasons.

Two Gentlemen of Verona - Photoshopped some Tintypes, apparently I’m better at Photoshop than my technical director. He kept saying the director/actors were raving about how well they turned out. I basically just screwed around with filters. Ah well, accidental win for me! I also made a hand mirror, but that one was cut in favor of a real one. Fine by me.
Rhinoceros - If anyone knows where I can find a convincing dead grey striped cat for cheap lemme know. If not I can always beat up a stuffed one. Also I need ideas for “dust” so as to show Rhinoceroses are trampling across set with killing our actors or audience by infecting their lungs.
Cyrano de Bergerac - Rapiers. It’s all about the Rapiers. I can’t find any fancy looking ones for less than a fortune (that is, a fortune to a college student, which is like upwards of $50 per sword). So we’re trying to borrow from the fencing team. Which should be interesting. Also, does anyone know where I can find a pastry shaped like a harp? I need six of them for the beginning of June. I think we’ll be making one, but that’s going to take a load of work. Did I mention we don’t have a set designer for this show? (Well, we don’t have one for Rhino either… Well… I’m basically doing props and set for it). So it’s a big collab of the designers and director.
Exciting, exciting.
Well it’s off to a production meeting. Wish me luck. :)

Do you know where I could find French Early 1600s Replica Rapiers for cheap?
I believe I need something like five or six. One has to be fancy-pantsy. The rest don’t need to be as intricate.
I promise you I will actually be posting props-related posts soon.
I am working on two shows this quarter:
and
I’m very excited for both, but also a little stressed out.
I’ll keep you updated as I get more into the process!
