Also Presented Without Comment of the Day: All 51 Miss USA delegates respond to the question “should evolution be taught in schools.”

[d|m.]

Actually pretty impressed with Miss Washington’s answer (I guarantee you she’s from western Washington).

WARNING POLITICAL/RELIGIOUS SOAPBOX:

How the fuck is this a debate? They’ve proven that evolution is a process that is happening, that creatures adapt to their surroundings. And I really don’t understand why religion (specifically Christianity)  has to work against science. They are not coming from completely different places. The whole idea that God actually created the world in  a literal seven day span somehow got rolling, but guys, God could have created all these creatures using evolution. Why can’t God and science overlap?

Plus, Creationism is maybe something mentioned in school as “some people believe this”, but in Science class, actual science should be taught.

People have such a messed up idea on what the Theory of Evolution is.

(I like Miss Minnesota’s and Miss Vermont’s answer. Miss Washington’s answer was strange.).
